Easthaven

Easthaven is a dreary town where it rains more often than the sun shines. With a combination of rich flood plains that produce a bountiful harvest and the natural mineral deposits from the mines nears the foothills of the Walls of Stone the town of Easthaven is exceedingly rich. However most of this money is held by the upper crust of society in Easthaven which revolves almost wholly around the Duke of Easthaven. With the dreary atmosphere and riches abound thieves and cut purses flocked to the city to make a fortune fleecing the nobility, until the Duke started his assault on crime in the city. He took his considerable standing army and turned them into a private police force, roughing up anyone looking suspicious.

The Duke is known for his short temper, and will not hesitate to duel someone who has offended his honor. His lack of tact and his overabundance of bravado has caused him to turn minor scuffles into full military excursions. Only with the patience of King Eric II does the Kingdom of Hallstat avert total war.

The rumor on the street is that the Duchess of Easthaven has died, and the Duke is soon going to take a new bride.
